My sister consulted the doctor Chest Physician) last Wednesday with symptoms of wheezing, fever, a cold that had gone to chest, cough, tightness in chest , which she had informed the doctor of difficulty in breathing, But doctor just prescribed strong antibiotic Augmentin, antihistamines and cough syrup without asking for an Xray. He had noted a wheeze but hadnt given any medicines for it. Had he asked for an Xray he would have noticed a serious infection-The next day Thursday she was rushed to Accident & Emergency due to difficulty in breathing. She was diagnosed with serious Pneumonia and is still in ICU needing several antibiotics. Patients please ask for an Xray when in doubt. Do not let the doctor rush you especially when you have paid for the consultation.
